Sir Andy Murray jokes wife Kim Sears is trying to force him into hair transplant

Sir Andy Murray has joked that his wife Kim wants him to go under the knife again – but this time for a hair transplant.

The tennis star revealed that Kim Sears is pleading with him to get the procedure.

But, comedian Jimmy Carr’s barnet has put him off the pricey op.

Andy, 33, appeared on A League Of Their Own with Jimmy who poked fun at the Scot’s receding hairline. He told him to get a new thatch stitched into his skull, just like the comic did this year.

But, the two-time Wimbledon champ shot back: “My wife has been telling me to have one of them for a couple of years but I’m not if it turns out like that.”

The dad-of-three has previously joked about his disappearing locks, and took to Twitter to ask fans: “Who loses their hair first out of me and Rafa?”

The athlete was also able to joke about his wife’s crush on ALOTO team captain Jamie Redknapp.

He said it “kills” him that Kim fancies the pants off the former footballer.

However Jamie, who is a neighbour of the couple, claimed he struggles to get a “hello” from artist Kim when he sees her on the street.

He said: “We live on the same road and I always see her with the pram and the dog and I give her a ‘hey’ and I get nothing.”

The quick-witted ace quipped back: “I hope that’s all you give her.”

Murray, whose last ATP event was November's Antwerp Open, returns to competitive action at the Western & Southern Open at Flushing Meadows.

And the 33-year-old admitted that he was feeling a little “off the pace”.

“I’m looking forward to it, just to be back competing again,” said Murray.

“I’ve really enjoyed the last few days just practising with top players, which I've kind of done a little bit back home but not that much.

“It's very different conditions, very lively, quick, very hot. I've been practising with [Dominic] Thiem, [Andrey] Rublev and [Karen] Khachanov. Those guys don't really hold back.

“It's a bit of a different speed to what I've been used to. I felt a little bit off the pace at times but I'm feeling quite good on the court physically in terms of my hip.”
