Canelo Alvarez has hit out at Logan and Jake Paul, as boxing’s pound-for-pound king slammed the American brothers for their lack of ‘respect’ for the sport.
Alvarez produced a near flawless display to cement his status as the best boxer on the planet last weekend in a dominant win over Callum Smith in Texas, with the Mexican now looking almost impossible to beat.
The 30-year-old is arguably the biggest draw in boxing currently, and generates millions whenever he takes to the ring.

However, the Paul brothers, who have found fame on YouTube, are set to cash in on boxing with Logan taking on Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in February, while Jake is calling for a fight with UFC star Conor McGregor.
And Alvarez has expressed his dismay at the current state of affairs in boxing that will surely see Logan earn one of the biggest paydays of any boxer in 2021.
‘For true fighters, I do believe that it’s a lack of respect,’ Alvarez told TMZ Sport. ‘I truly believe that it’s a lack of respect. It’s all based on money. It’s all about money.’

The Mexican would not entertain the prospect of taking part in a fight with a celebrity, but offered the brothers an invitation to spar with him.
‘I’m focused right now on other projects, I have other stuff going on. I would invite them over for a sparring session so they truly know what it’s all about.’
The three-weight world champion also hit out at the athletic commissions who have signed off on fights involving celebrities and athletes from other sports.

‘It’s all about money and I don’t agree with it. I don’t agree that people who are basketball players or who are YouTubers get licenses,’ he added.
Jake Paul spectacularly knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson last month to take his professional record to two wins, no defeats. Logan has fought once professionally, losing to fellow internet star KSI on points last year.
The Mayweather that Logan will face will be markedly different to the imperious light middleweight that Canelo faced in 2013, as ‘Money’ schooled the then 23-year-old in a magnificent display.
