Eddie Hall’s brutal warning to Hafthor Bjornsson as ‘Mountain’ dropped in fight

Eddie Hall has fired a brutal warning to Hafthor Bjornsson ahead of their boxing match after “The Mountain” was dropped in his latest fight.

The World’s Strongest Men contenders are set to face off this September in the ‘Heaviest Boxing Match in History’.

It has seen the Brit step up his training at an underground gym in his mansion, losing serious weight and producing some powerful punches.

But Bjornsson, who famously played Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane in his drama Game of Thrones , has been taking a baptism-of-fire approach by taking on exhibition bouts.

The latest one, though, saw the 32-year-old – who has lost 55lb in preparation for his fight with Hall – hit the canvas against 21-fight professional heavyweight Simon Valilly.

The 35-year-old, who weighed in an incredible 80lb lighter than his Icelandic opponent, managed to land some big hits on his bodybuilding opponent in the second round.

And the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist saw Bjornsson hit the canvas late in that round – only for the referee to say ‘The Mountain’ had slipped.

But he was put down by a huge Valilly punch in the third round, getting up to face more punches before the bell of their fight on May 28.

‘The Mountain’ managed to comeback in the fourth and final round, earning a draw officially due to exhibition boxing regulations.

It was clear to spectators, though, that Bjornsson had lost to the professional boxer – four months ahead of the showdown with his British rival

While the Icelandic giant was taking a beating, Hall was busy showing off his improving form to his 2.6m Instagram followers.

Working out with 19-year-old training partner Josh Middleton, the 33-year-old is at full stretch as he lands a left-hander on his sparring pal’s temple.

Accompanying the snap, Hall adds his message to Bjornsson with: "Keeping my head down as training ramps up.

"Four months until we see Thor's face down on the floor."
