Eddie Hearn held private meeting with Fury – despite representing Anthony Joshua
Eddie Hearn held a private meeting with Tyson Fury in Las Vegas – despite representing Anthony Joshua.
Hearn is in Vegas to promote Liam Williams' fight with Demetrius Andrade, while Fury is in Sin City to work on his training ahead of his fight with AJ.
As Fury and Joshua edged closer to agreeing a venue for their summer showdown, Hearn revealed details of his get together with the Gypsy King.
Britain’s rival heavyweights have been considering multiple options to stage the blockbuster bout, with an agreement soon to be announced.
As well as talking shop, Hearn also disclosed information about his surprise meeting with Fury, with both men on business in Las Vegas.
Hearn told Behind The Gloves: "I saw Tyson yesterday. I just messaged him and said, 'I'm in Vegas, I'm in your hotel if you fancy a cuppa'.
"We just had five or 10 minutes together and it was good, because I don't represent Tyson Fury, so I don't know what is in his mind.
“What he basically cemented in my mind was, this is the only fight he wants, and I know that's the same with AJ.
"It just good to say, right we've got the offer, we all approve. We're moving forward now. We're good”.
While Hearn and Fury may be cordial for the time being, that will all change once a venue is agreed for the Gypsy King’s showdown with Joshua.
The two fighters agreed a mega £200million two-fight deal to unify the heavyweight division last month, with just the venue yet to be confirmed.
China, Singapore, American and Britain are in the running to host the fight, although a Middle East location appears more feasible.
Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which hosted Joshua’s second fight with Andy Ruiz Jr., are all considered more likely venues.
