Tommy Fury ‘getting paid more money’ to face Jake Paul than ‘world champions’
Tommy Fury is set to "earn more than some world champions" for agreeing to step into the ring with Jake Paul next month, according to his dad.
By agreeing to become the first actual boxer to professionally fight the YouTube rich kid in Florida on December 18, the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will earn a figure "in the millions".
Paul is undefeated in his four professional bouts, but those were against another YouTuber, a basketballer and two ageing MMA fighters.
Fury, also undefeated at 7-0, is risking his career in boxing by agreeing to fight the American – members of his own family have admitted he might never recover from the embarrassment of losing to Paul.
But his dad John says it is "good business" to earn such good money, and believes his boy will have too much for his opponent if he concentrates.
"Listen, Tommy's getting paid more money for this than some world champions," Fury Snr told entrepreneur Rob Moore.
"He's getting paid in the millions, so if we get millions for getting wet we're gonna do it, because it's good business.

"If he's on his game, Tommy, and he's firing on all four cylinders – easy night's work, easy money and the winner goes on to bigger and better things."
John Fury added they would be looking to take advantage of another huge payday with a fight against Jake Paul's older brother Logan after winning this fight, before focussing on progressing through the ranks towards the usual belts.
"We'll get the brother out the game as well, then we'll start looking at conventional titles for him," he added.

"A brother is gonna wanna redeem another brother isn't he. When he knocks Jake Paul out, the brother's gonna wanna take his part ain't he.
'"But I don't think so because the hiding Tommy's gonna give Jake Paul, the other brother won't be interested either."
The undefeated fighters will step into the ring on December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, for an eight-round bout at catchweight.
