Tyson Fury has blamed rival Anthony Joshua’s ‘greed’ for the collapse of a potential undisputed title clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury has announced he will fight mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, suggesting fellow Brit Joshua has rejected the chance to step aside from his rematch with Usyk.

Joshua was reportedly offered £15million – and Whyte offered £5m – to step aside and cancel his rematch with WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO king Oleksandr Usyk, allowing Fury to fight the Ukrainian in an undisputed clash.

Talks about a sensational undisputed heavyweight champion clash have since collapsed.

The Gypsy King is now heading for purse bids in Mexico City on Friday night for a mandatory defence of his WBC world heavyweight title in a UK homecoming fight against Dillian Whyte.

Joshua looks set to get his rematch with Ukrainian boxer Usyk as he looks to win back his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts.

Fury however has stuck the blame on Joshua for the collapse of the potential fight with Usyk, by tweeting: ‘It’s called greed’ in response to a social media post which explained the situation.

Fury has previously hinted that Joshua had rejected the step-aside offer on Wednesday by mocking him and promoter Eddie Hearn in a video, stating the pair had ‘lost $90million in a day’.

The two-time heavyweight champion said: ‘Anthony Joshua’s a coward, Oleksandr Usyk’s a p**** and Dillian Whyte don’t wanna fight… Either fight or do one, you pack of wet lettuces.’

Fury also fired out a warning to next opponent Whyte, by saying: ‘I can’t wait to punch Dillian Whyte’s face right in. I’m going to give him the best hiding he’s ever had in his life. Train hard sucker because you’re getting annihilated, bum.’
