What time are the NFL games today? TV schedule, channels for Saturday’s Week 16 tripleheader
If you thought two NFL games on a Saturday was fun in Week 15, Week 16 will knock your socks off. It’s a triplehead of football goodness the day after Christmas.
As is the case with most NFL games these days, quarterbacks will be front and center Saturday. It’s Tom Brady and the Buccaneers against Matthew Stafford and the Lions in the early game. 49ers vs. Cardinals comes next, broadcast exclusively on NFL Network with Kyler Murray likely to do some exciting things. And the nightcap is Tua Tagovailoa and his Dolphins against Derek Carr and the Raiders.
The Saturday NFL game tradition in this format dates back to 1970, with only 2013 lacking such games in December. A week ago, two lopsided games on paper turned out as such on the field, as the Bills crushed the Broncos and the Packers handled the Panthers.
Below is more about the start times for the Saturday games in Week 16, plus everything you need to know to watch all three games.
What times are the Saturday NFL games?
All three of these games will feature one likely playoff team against one unlikely/eliminated, non-playoff team. In the first game, Brady and the Buccaneers will look to ride their momentum from a comeback win in Week 15 to another victory. Antonio Brown caught the game-winning TD to beat the Falcons on Sunday, his first score with Tampa Bay.
Murray and Arizona are hanging on to a wild card spot in the NFC and will have to keep winning to hold off the streaking Bears and Mitchell Trubisky. The 49ers and Nick Mullens shouldn’t pose too much of a problem unless the San Francisco defense somehow slows Murray down.
Miami clinched its first winning season since 2016 with a win in Week 15, and now it’s time for the Dolphins to lock up a playoff berth. Tagovailoa benefited from a good running game Sunday and could look to do so again in Vegas.
What channel are Saturday NFL games on?
Buccaneers vs. Lions & Raiders vs. Dolphins
The early and late games on Saturday will be broadcast exclusively on NFL Network. Unlike the Thursday Night Football games which get simulcast on Fox and Amazon Prime Video, it’s only NFLN for these two contests. It’s the same setup that was in place for both Saturday games in Week 15.
49ers vs. Cardinals
The 4:30 p.m. ET kick will be exlusively on Amazon Prime Video, the only broadcast exclusively on that service all season. Prime Video has been broadcasting the Thursday night games along with Fox and NFL Network since Week 5. Amazon is expected to be a major bidder in future broadcast rights negotiations.
NFL live stream for Saturday NFL games
For the early and late games on NFL Network, there aren’t any network-specific streaming services to use, so the list is shorter than usual. It’s just the options that bring you NFL games on a weekly basis.
For cord-cutters, there are plenty of live streaming options available to watch Saturday’s games. Below is the list.
The 49ers vs. Cardinals game is exclusively available on Amazon Prime Video.
