Charles Leclerc spotted with former Miss Croatia at Azerbaijan GP

F1 preview: A lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Ferrari star Charles Leclerc has been spotted with former Miss Croatia Ivana Knoll at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The model set tongues wagging at the World Cup as she posed in revealing outfits at the World Cup despite the tournament being held in socially conservative Qatar.

Leclerc is currently enjoying his most positive weekend of the season so far after taking pole position for Sunday’s Grand Prix. It is the first time that any driver has got the better of Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in 2023 after their dominant start to the campaign.

It appears he has the support of former Miss Croatia Knoll this weekend too with the model posting a picture of them together on her Instagram. She has Paddock Club tickets for the duration of the weekend, giving her behind-the-scenes access.

Knoll initially shot to international prominence at the 2022 World Cup after grabbing attention for her match outfits. The model was not afraid to show off despite Qatar’s socially conservative rules as she followed Croatia across the country. She has amassed over 3.4million followers on Instagram.

She also runs her own clothing brand in Croatia which ships worldwide.

Knoll proved to be something of a good luck charm for Leclerc as he took pole in Baku. It was third consecutive time that he had claimed pole in the Caspian track which has become one of his strongest circuits. He has never won in Azerbaijan and has now set his sights on changing that record in Sunday’s Grand Prix even though he concedes Red Bull are still the favourites.

“For sure, I’m surprised – we came into the weekend thinking that it would be a great weekend if we were in front of Aston Martin and Mercedes in qualifying,” Leclerc said. “And at the end, we are on pole, so it’s a good surprise.

“We must not forget that our car is probably behind the Red Bull, so it’s going to be difficult to keep the lead. But that’s the target (winning the Grand Prix).

“We don’t have new bits on the car, we just have a rear wing adapted to this. I think we have done a great job with the setup since Australia, we found something on that. How much is it better? It’s very difficult to say for now, I think we will know a bit more on Sunday.

“I can also say the lap today was really, really good and really on the limit and everything I wanted to do I did it and there wasn’t much in it. So I’m extremely happy.”
