Lewis Hamilton has now equalled Michael Schumacher's record of F1 wins, scoring his 91st career victory in the Eifel Grand Prix.
While his team-mate Valtteri Bottas ended up back in the Mercedes garage following a mechanical failure, it was plain-sailing for Hamilton.
The Brit started second on the grid but only took 13 laps to leapfrog his co-star, who locked up and left the gap wide open.
Soon after, Bottas retired and Hamilton had to fend off Max Verstappen on his way to victory.
The championship leader had an 11-second lead with 14 laps to go, before the safety car came out.
But Verstappen couldn't close the gap, finishing ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in second.
Hamilton was quizzed about the record before this weekend's action but was not fazed by equalling Schumacher's achievement.
“Honestly it wouldn’t make any difference,” Hamilton replied.
“I’ve got my work cut out in the race.
“It’s not something I particularly think about.
“If and when it happens, it’ll be great – but right now these two [Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen] are making it pretty hard for me. I’m enjoying this battle I’m having with these guys.”
Hamilton has often been criticised given that he drives in the most powerful car on the grid.
But fellow driver Esteban Ocon has praised the 35-year-old.
"Well, hats off because obviously he has been on the top of his game for a long, long time," Ocon told the Daily Express.
"Seeing him work closely… people think 'oh he is just talented, he jumps in the car and he has a Mercedes and it does everything for him'. That is not true.

"He is working very hard with his engineers, he is guiding them to good directions. He is guiding the team and improving their confidence the right way.
"He is part of that and his success is not just random – that doesn't exist. It's not just random. Everything that he does, he is obviously very talented, but he works very hard for it.
"Some people don't necessarily understand all of that."
