Collingwood response to racism report raises doubts about capacity to change: Lumumba

Collingwood premiership player Heritier Lumumba says Collingwood must acknowledge the harm their culture has done to people in the past if they want to be seen as serious about implementing the recommendations from the Do Better Report.

He said the two press conferences the club have held since the report was leaked have only added doubt to their capacity to deal with the issue and while he took no pleasure in the departure of club president Eddie McGuire, his exit was a signal that racism would no longer be tolerated.

“The change signifies an important development in that public pressure and the exposure of racism won’t be tolerated,” Lumumba told ABC radio on Thursday morning.
