Alexandre Lacazette could end up leaving Arsenal due to his relationship with Mikel Arteta.
The France international striker has enjoyed a postive run of form in the Premier League after a tricky start, scoring four goals across his last four matches, three of which were victories.
His seven goals in the league this season have helped fill the void left by the poor form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but there are still doubts over his future.
While Arteta is keen to hand more responsibility to Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah, Lacazette’s position at the club has been questioned.
While talking about a potential successor for Luka Jovic at Real Madrid, Spanish outlet AS mentioned Lacazette as having a big fan in Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.
Although Atletico recently replaced Diego Costa with former Fulham and Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, they have an option to make his loan permanent rather than an obligation.
In addition, AS have stated that Lacazette’s relationship with Arteta is ‘not the best’, going on to say that he could be part of another summer clear out at the end of the season.
Lacazette said of his manager earlier this month: "The coach puts me as a No.9, but more with a role to play for my team-mates and challenge a lot.
"It is not really a 10’s position, nor an old-fashioned No.9 that has to stay ahead and score goals.
"He knows my qualities and knows that I like to play short and help my team-mates with the development of play.
"Now we’re four behind and three midfielders. It’s much easier, because before we lacked attacking players.
"This tactical change is also good for us…"
Arsenal ended a run of three consecutive league victories with a draw against Crystal Palace on Thursday, and will now be preparing to take on Newcastle on Monday.
