Aribo goal in Europa League final has Rangers producing ‘best limbs in football’
Rangers fans produced what some Twitter users called the "best limbs in football" as Joe Aribo's goal gave them the lead against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.
Former Charlton Athletic man Aribo capitalised on a slip from Brazilian defender Tuta to send Rangers fans into dreamland midway through the second half. The 25-year-old latched onto a ball over the top that Tuta and Djibril Sow both failed to deal with before stroking a cool finish past Kevin Trapp into the bottom corner of the goal.
As Aribo wheeled off in celebration, thousands of Rangers fans in the stands at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan lost their minds, cheering wildly and launching cups of beer high up into the air.
Their incredible celebrations didn't go unnoticed by football fans on Twitter, plenty of whom praised them for their 'limbs.' One person wrote: "Rangers have the best limbs in football wowww."
Someone else said: "Rangers winning in terms of limbs right now I must say that was disappointing from the Germans." A third Twitter user added: "10/10 limbs in that Rangers end."
"Those were special limbs from Rangers. Made me jealous in all honesty, I just want one moment like that," came the comment from another overawed viewer.
As a different commenter wrote: "F***ing limbs in that rangers end man." While another supporter chimed in with: "There's limbs and then there's Glasgow Rangers limbs. Best in the business."
Aribo had Rangers in front for 12 minutes with his first Europa League goal of the season. But the Scottish giants couldn't hold on as Rafael Borre equalised with just over 20 minutes left to play.
Former Scotland winger Pat Nevin felt Rangers were unlucky to concede the equaliser. "There was nothing in that," he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
"Rangers had them where they wanted them. They've barely had a cross in on that side. This time the ball comes in and Borre nicks in in front of a defender.
"It's so depressing for Rangers. They don't deserve that. They were in control. It's a whole bunch of errors for Rangers defensively."
