Arsenal have identified two strikers to target in the transfer window as part of their summer rebuild, according to reports. The Gunners are readying themselves for a critical off-season, having endured a poor campaign under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are ninth in the Premier League and facing up to the prospect of having no European football next season after crashing out of the Europa League against Villarreal.
Arteta’s side play Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Brighton before the end of the season, but even if they win all three fixtures, their maximum possible points total of 61 is likely to see them fall short of earning a Europa League place.
The Gunners have won their last two Premier League games, against Newcastle and West Brom, but Arteta has made it clear the club will be undertaking a major rebuild at the end of the season.
“We have already had an incredible amount of changes at the club over the past year or so, more than ever,” he said in Tuesday’s press conference.
“We are looking to improve and be much closer than where we are at the moment. In order to do that there are certain things that we have to improve.

“There are so many things to do because we already have a lot of players on loan and a lot of players with contracts still that we need to sort.
“It will depend on what happens with a lot of those players and what we are able to recruit to improve the team. That is going to determine where we are.”
According to football.london, first team players Bernd Leno and Hector Bellerin and loanees Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac will all be made available for transfer this summer.
Director Edu is intent on raising around £60million to spend in the transfer market, with Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma one of the club’s targets.
The Telegraph report that the Gunners also want to bolster their options in attack amid uncertainty over the futures of strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal have identified Lyon forward Moussa Dembele and Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard as potential replacements.
Dembele is reportedly available for around £25m this summer, but Atletico Madrid have an option to sign the 24-year-old striker for £30m, having signed him on loan in January.
The Frenchman is yet to score in six appearances for Atleti, but has netted 44 goals in his first two seasons in Lyon and 51 goals in 94 appearances for Celtic between 2016 and 2018.
Meanwhile, Edouard is expected to be available for around £15m to £20m, although Arsenal would face competition for his signature from Leicester.
The Foxes are current favourites to sign the 23-year-old striker, who is about to enter the final year of his deal in Scotland and has scored 19 goals in 33 games this season.
