Arsenal have submitted enquiries over a deal for Houssem Aouar, reports say. However, while that’s the case, he’s expected to stay at his current club. And it’s a similar story with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, too, with the Gunners confident of keeping their prized asset.
Arsenal came close to signing Aouar a year ago.
Mikel Arteta wanted the France international, who had impressed for Lyon with some slick showings in the middle of the park.
However, in the end, Arsenal missed out – choosing to spend their money on bringing in Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid instead.
Now, Football London claim Arsenal have enquired about the 23-year-old, who scored seven goals and clocked up three assists in 30 Ligue 1 matches last term.
But, while that’s the case, he’s still expected to stay at his current club.

Lyon don’t want to lose another star player, having already seen Memphis Depay depart for Barcelona on a free transfer.
And that means Arsenal are unlikely to add to their midfield today, especially following Martin Odegaaard’s move from Real Madrid.
Arteta had been coy on the transfer front last week, saying: “We don’t know.
“We’ve already done a lot of things – ins and outs – I think it is 16 or 17 deals in total, with some renewals, which is a lot of things.
“There are still some things to do in the last few days because there are still some questions marks & deals that can happen, but we will see.”

Regarding Aubameyang, the Gabon international is expected to stay put as well.
He’s been linked with Barcelona and Juventus, but the two European giants appear to have other priorities at the current moment in time.
Arsenal legend David Seaman, meanwhile, recently called on the Gunners to surprise fans with a big signing.
“It’s not a good start, I think things will change really quickly because the fans will let them know and they’re not happy,” he said.
“You go on Twitter and look at the comments about Arsenal and all the fans are frustrated at the lack of signings.
“Lots of people supposedly coming but nothing ever happens.
“It would be great for us to just get a big surprise signing that we haven’t really heard about just to settle the fans.
“We’re supposed to be getting certain people and it just doesn’t happen. The Ben White move took forever to go through.”
And he then added: “We’ll see with Arteta because this is his judgement season.
“I feel he’s had his time to get his players in as much as he can, he’s had quite a bit of time coaching the players he’s got and getting them to play the way he wants and we’ll see.
“It’s a big season for Arsenal, this one.”
