Barcelona legends fume as Suarez joins Atletico Madrid after being "thrown out"
Luis Suarez was presented as an Atletico Madrid player on Friday, leading to outright fume from four Barcelona legends.
The Uruguayan forward was shown the door at the Nou Camp despite having one year left on his contract, with boss Ronald Koeman immediately telling the former Liverpool man that he had no future at the club.
Suarez has signed a two-year deal in the Spanish capital after passing his medical on Friday, and leaves after 198 goals in 283 appearances for the club.
Atletico have paid a bargain fee of no more than €6million for Suarez, who headed straight into training with his new club on Friday.
His departure has left Messi angry with the club just weeks after he reversed his own decision to leave.
The Argentinean posted a lengthy goodbye to Suarez on Instagram in which he wrote: "You deserved a farewell that fit with who you are: one of the most important players in the history of the club.
"Someone who achieved great things for the team and on an individual level. You did not deserve for them to throw you out like they did. But the truth is that at this stage nothing surprises me anymore."
Barca icons Samuel Eto'o, Neymar and Dani Alves all rushed to comment on Messi's post, with Eto'o – another former Barca No.9 like Suarez – writing: "Son, you can't BUY class. Look after yourself and think about you."
Neymar, who formed one third of the lethal 'MSN' strike trio with Messi and Suarez, added : "Amazing the way they do things" as he referred to the club's board and unpopular president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
And former Barca right-back Alves wrote: "Unfortunately, this is the reality from long ago. It is only confirmed year after year!
"It's not about winning or losing, we know that, it's about respect and they know nothing about it."
