Ben Chilwell’s worldie training goals leave Chelsea fans calling for first start

Chelsea have released footage of Ben Chilwell smashing home two sensational volleys in training – leaving Blues fans desperate for him to start away at Tottenham on Tuesday.

The west London club are set to visit their bitter rivals in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, with Chilwell in line to make his full debut since arriving from Leicester this summer.

After sustaining a heel injury at the back end of last season, the £50million left-back has been forced to wait for his first Chelsea start having signed in late August.

He was brought off the bench with 20 minutes remaining in their 6-0 third-round victory over Barnsley last week and impressed, teeing up Olivier Giroud for the sixth goal on the night.

And Chilwell appears to be in equally impressive form on the training pitch.

Chelsea have posted footage on social media from their analyst cameras at Cobham, which show the England international firing in a pair of beautiful volleys.

As a result, the Blues faithful are desperate to see him get the nod against Spurs.

One posted on Twitter: “Start him tomorrow + Saturday”.

“Please we didn’t sign him to watch his training videos. Field him!” said another.

A third commented: “Yea have him bring it to the pitch tomorrow against Spurs thanks”.

“All this heat only to warm up on the bench. Just start him!” demanded another supporter.

While one simply put: “Tell me he’s fit tomorrow”.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed on Monday that both Chilwell and new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy are in contention to start against Spurs, but injured duo Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic are still out.

“Mendy and Chilwell are in the squad for tomorrow,” Lampard said.
