Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Mino Raiola over the possibility of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma, who Manchester United are also considering as a long-term replacement for David de Gea. The 22-year-old shot-stopper has already racked up over 200 appearances for AC Milan, having forced his way into the first-team picture as a teenager in 2015.
His current deal with the Italian giants is set to expire this summer, meaning he is free to speak with other clubs.
However, it’s understood that Donnarumma would prefer to stay at the San Siro with talks ongoing with the club.
Reports in Italy claim a contract extension is being held up by Raiola’s demands during talks with the Milan board.
The super-agent is keen on including a release clause in his contract, said to be worth around £35million.

According to football consultant Ian McGarry, Raiola has already held meetings with both Chelsea and United over his client.
Both Premier League clubs are interested in the Italian international with Thomas Tuchel and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to make cut-throat decisions regarding their future No 1 at the end of the season.
“Our information of course is that both Chelsea and Manchester United have been in talks with Raiola regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
“He’s a 21-year-old who is at the stage in the career where he has played since I think 16 or 17 in Milan’s first team.

“He’s also someone who would be highly sought after anywhere in European football but the goalkeeping situation at Manchester United regarding Dean Henderson and David de Gea remains undecided.
“Clearly that’s a decision to be made but with the Europa League tie between United and Milan, that makes it more interesting regarding that situation.
“Also the recent news that Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga are fighting for the No 1 spot as well at Chelsea, it looks like Donnarumma has an opportunity to move to England should he choose to, accompanied by the commission that Raiola seeks and wants for a free transfer for such an asset.
“There is an opportunity for either club as well as others to score Donnarumma on a longer-term contract without there being a fee.
“If he were to leave and that’s a big if because I certainly think it’s a case where he would like to stay in Italy with AC Milan, I’m told his general feeling in regards to leaving country, is that he maybe feels intimidated by the idea of a culture switch.”
United are allegedly set to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, despite the fierce competition between De Gea and Henderson.
The former Sheffield United loanee wants to play regularly but has had to be patient for opportunities.
Henderson kept a clean sheet in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win at Manchester City on Sunday and is now looking to nail down his place in the team.
Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are said to be amongst the clubs interested in his services.
