Manchester City are prepared to offer Barcelona £89.5million plus Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Eric Garcia for Lionel Messi.

City are optimistic of reaching a deal with the Catalan giants after Messi told announced his desire to leave the club this summer.

Should Messi agree terms with City, he will be reunited with Pep Guardiola following an incredible career at the Nou Camp – scoring an astonishing 634 goals and creating 285 assists in 731 appearances for the Spanish giants.

The two have already been in contact over the phone about moving to the Etihad, even discussing how Messi could settle in England and learn the language after almost 20 years in Spain.

The idea of City signing Messi has long seemed like a dream, but the £89.5m with the addition of Silva, Jesus and Garcia could make the transfer a reality.

The deal will also include City’s players Bernardo Silva (above), Gabriel Jesus and Eric Garcia

A special reunion between Messi and Pep Guardiola could be on the cards at the Etihad

According to Sport, contact has been made with Barca chiefs to bring to Jesus to the Nou Camp.

Jesus has been a primary target for the Catalans as they look to replace Luis Suarez, but City’s £20.5m price tag has prevented a deal from materialising.

Guardiola is also looking to offload Garcia with his contract set to expire next summer.

With two of Barca’s transfer targets added to the deal, City’s chances of closing a deal have rocketed.
