Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum home from hospital as star makes fresh coronavirus plea

Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a touching family picture with his mother home from hospital after her recent health scare.

Dolores Aveiro, 65, was rushed to hospital in Madeira earlier this month after suffering a stroke.

Juventus superstar Ronaldo rushed to his homeland to be by her side before being forced to self-isolate in his property on the island after team-mate Daniele Rugani tested positive for coronavirus.

His mother was released from hospital nearly two weeks after doctors saved her life – and Ronaldo has now appeared to confirm she has joined his family in their seven-story mansion.

He shared a picture with his mother sat in their home gym giving a thumbs up alongside sisters Katia and Elma.

“Feeling very thankful to have my mum home from hospital and recovering,” Ronaldo wrote.

“Look after your families and loved ones.”

He added the hashtag “Stay Home Save Lives” as he offered a fresh plea to fans to take advice during the global coronavirus pandemic.

Dolores admitted she feels “lucky to be alive” as she posted her first selfie since being released from hospital.

“I am lucky to have the opportunity to live to love my family and have them close to me,” she wrote.

“Thank you to everyone for their support and affection. These have been difficult days but of struggle and victory.

“Now I’m at home surrounded by the love of my family, my good energy.

“I will stay here as I like to but always looking after myself first. Everything will be fine.”

Ronaldo has seen three Juventus team-mates test positive for the virus – Daniele Rugani, Blaise Matuidi and Paulo Dybala.

He has helped the efforts by donating €1million to help three intensive care units alongside his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez is also at the Madeira property with the Portugal star.
