Four Liverpool stars who could defy Klopp after stern Champions League warning
Jurgen Klopp is adamant that none of his Liverpool players will ask to leave the club if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The Reds face an uphill battle to finish in the Premier League top four this term after Fulham handed them a sixth straight home defeat on Sunday.
It has been a disastrous title defence for Klopp’s men, who could find themselves seven points adrift of the top four down in eighth by the close of play on Monday night.
Klopp insists he will maintain “loyalty” from the players even if they do drop out of the Champions League next season, saying on Saturday: “I know we have loyalty from the players.
“It is not a situation where a player in the squad says, ‘We are not in the Champions League so I have to leave’. That will not happen. I know them well enough to know that,” Klopp stated.
“The club is in a different situation and it will not be an issue with new players I can say that.”
However, there are four Liverpool players who could defy his warning in the summer transfer window.
The Egyptian has been tipped to leave Anfield over the past year, and recent reports in Spain suggest he has already told Liverpool chiefs he wants to leave.
Should they fail to qualify for the Champions League, that could provide him with the perfect opportunity to force a move away.
