How Man Utd fans can watch new signings and when they play during international break

Manchester United stars are now on international duty for two weeks with some of the new signings made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to make their first impression with fans. The Red Devils will hope they all come back fit ahead of a busy schedule for the remainder of October.

Sometimes, after a particularly humiliating defeat, it is best for a club to jump straight back into action.

Unfortunately, Manchester United were not afforded an opportunity to redeem themselves after Sunday’s harrowing 6-1 home defeat by Tottenham Hotspur, with the Red Devils having to wait until after the international break to put things right.

As ever, several United players are on international duty with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping that his charges return to Carrington unscathed from their national team exertions.

This international window has added interest for fans, of course, with some of United’s new signings set to be in action for their countries before making their debuts for their new club.

Here is how and when United fans can keep tabs on their new recruits during the latest international window.

Donny van de Beek

It has been a relatively slow start to life at Old Trafford for Van de Beek, United’s first signing of the summer.

While the 23-year-old marked his debut with a goal in the defeat by Crystal Palace, he is yet to start a league game, being restricted to late cameos in all three fixtures so far.

Van de Beek will look to impress Solskjaer this week, however, with the Netherlands in action three times over the next seven days.

The Dutch host Mexico in a friendly on Wednesday night (7.45pm), which is being shown on the Sky Sports red button.

Frank de Boer’s side then face trips to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Italy in a testing Nations League double header, with the Dutch second in Group 1 after a win and a defeat in their first two games.

The Bosnia game kicks off at 5pm on Sunday while the Italy clash is at 7.45pm next Wednesday (14th), with both games again on the Sky Sports red button.

Alex Telles

Telles could play twice during the international break after joining United from Porto on deadline day.

The left-back hopes to be involved for Brazil against Bolivia and Peru as the Selecao begin their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Telles faces competition from Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi for the left-back spot in Tite’s line-up.

The new United man has one cap for Brazil, which came in a friendly against Panama in March 2019.

Brazil’s clash with Bolivia kicks off at 1.30am UK time on Saturday while the Peru game begins at 1am on Wednesday.

Edinson Cavani

United’s new No.7 will not be in international action this week after being left out of Uruguay’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Ecuador.

The 33-year-old was omitted due to fitness concerns with the striker having last played a competitive game in March for Paris Saint-Germain.

Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez said Cavani was not considered for his latest squad due to the player’s lack of match sharpness.

“He reached an agreement to not complete his contract and, obviously, that made him inactive,” Tabarez said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“And afterwards, he didn’t work with any club during this time.

“That made us consider the risks of having a player who wasn’t active and how it could hurt the national team.

“Because he feels he doesn’t know how to play in a different way than giving it everything.”

Facundo Pellistri

Cavani’s young compatriot, who also joined United on deadline day, will not be in action for Uruguay’s under-20s this week with the senior side using the Celeste training complex ahead of their games against Chile and Ecuador, as per the Uruguayan FA’s website.

Amad Diallo

The exciting 18-year-old winger, who will join United in January, has not yet broken through at senior level for Ivory Coast. When he does, he will have club teammate Eric Bailly for company.
