Ian Wright wants apology from Sky Sports reporter as Tomiyasu shines at Arsenal

Ian Wright wants an apology from Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol in relation to Takehiro Tomiyasu as he tweets: "apologies as loud as the disrespect please!!!!!"

The Japanese international arrived from the Italian side Bologna over the summer to the tune of £17million.

And the 23-year-old slotted in at right-back for Mikel Arteta's side, where he has remained for the Gunners since his debut despite playing centrally in the Serie A.

Tomiyasu has been silently brilliant for Arsenal this season, and he once again starred over the weekend.

And his latest performance has caused Wright to hit out at Tomiyasu's doubters.

In the video the Arsenal legend was replying to, Solhekol can be heard saying: "You know we were talking about the right-back Arsenal have signed, Tomiyasu.

"And I mentioned agents involved in the deal had contacted me to say 'are any Premier League clubs looking for a right-back?'

"I've just got a message to say: Tomiyasu was offered to most clubs in the Premier League.

"He's a good player but the problem is he's not really a right-back, nor is he a central defender. I'm not sure how he will get on at Arsenal."

Arsenal fans have also been raving about his performances: "He’s a really safe performer.

"He smells danger and so many defenders these days don’t. The guy has settled so quickly and can’t imagine the team without him," one fan tweeted.

Another added: "I can’t believe EPL pundits laughed at this signing. It’s so embarrassing."

"Bargain of the season," a third tweeted.
