Ibrox Invincibles: Gerrard reacts to Rangers completing unbeaten league season
Steven Gerrard has paid tribute to his Rangers team after they beat Aberdeen to complete an unbeaten Scottish Premiership season.
The Liverpool legend’s side have enjoyed a brilliant campaign and thumped Aberdeen 4-0 at Ibrox on Saturday to surpass 100 league points for the first time in their history.
Rangers wrapped up the title last month and finish the season with 32 wins and six draws from 38 league matches, and a 100% record at home, winning all 18 games at Ibrox.
Gerrard said: ‘It feels good. It’s been a while since I’m had the smell of champagne on me! I’m enjoying it.
‘I’m so proud of the boys, first and foremost, and all the staff. But the main thing is the supporters.
‘I was asked to come here at a really difficult time, it had been even more difficult before that.
‘At that point it was about having a vision, getting the right people in the right places, the right support from the board and then fighting for it. That’s what we’ve done, we’ve fought every day for three years to get to this point.’

Rangers produced another dominant performance to beat Aberdeen, with Kemar Roofe’s brace, Jermaine Defoe’s late goal and a Joe Lewis own goal seeing the champions finish the season in style.
It is the first unbeaten league season for Rangers in 124 years, with Gerrard’s side scoring 79 goals and conceding just 13 across the campaign.
