Is Burnley vs Brighton on TV today? Kick-off time, channel and how to watch Premier League fixture

Brighton head to Burnley on Saturday hoping to extend their good recent form and move further clear of the relegation battle. The Seagulls beat the reigning Premier League champions Liverpool in midweek, securing a 1-0 win to make it three wins from four and move up to 15th place.

The Seagulls have not conceded a single goal during that run, with that solid defensive trait leading to the impressive statistic of only the Reds and Manchester City conceding fewer shots per match in the top flight this season than Graham Potter’s side.

They are now 10 points above the relegation zone and two points above weekend opponents Burnley – who also, coincidentally, beat Liverpool recently. The Clarets have lost their last two, with a midweek defeat to Manchester City seeing Sean Dyche’s men fail to have a single shot on target.

Despite those back-to-back losses, Burnley still have an eight-point gap between themselves and Fulham – who are one place below the Clarets in the table, inside the relegation zone. A win for either side here, then, would significantly boost their optimism about surviving this season and put a comfortable gap down to the bottom three, while a defeat could feasibly leave them in the mix for the drop once more.

What is the team news?

Burnley will have to hand late fitness tests to a host of players, the most vital of which are strikers Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, and midfielder Josh Brownhill. Left-sided pair Robbie Brady and Charlie Taylor could also return to provide some freshness to a team which had no impact at all against City in midweek.

Brighton are still without right wing-back Tariq Lamptey and striker Danny Welbeck, while left wing-back Solly March also went off injured in midweek. Joel Veltman and Alexis Mac Allister could return after missing the win at Liverpool, however. Jose Izquierdo and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are also out.

Predicted line-ups

BUR – Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Gudmundsson, Westwood, Cork, McNeil; Barnes, Rodriguez.

BRI – Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, Gross, Bissouma, Burn; Lallana, Trossard, Maupay.

Odds

Burnley – 37/13

Draw – 9/4

Brighton – 23/18

Prediction

A tight game with few chances, given how few each of these sides tend to give up in matches. Injuries might just harm Brighton’s hopes of extending their unbeaten run. Burnley 1-0 Brighton.
