Jack Grealish will join one of Premier League's elite, says Bent
‘Manchester United, Manchester City or maybe Spurs’: Jack Grealish will join one of Premier League’s elite in the summer, according to Darren Bent… but adds the Aston Villa star will favour a move to Old Trafford
- Darren Bent has named three clubs Jack Grealish is likely to join this summer
- The 24-year-old has attracted interest with a string of top performances for Villa
- Former Villa striker Bent says that Grealish would prefer to join Man United
- Grealish has been tipped to leave his boyhood club even if they survive the drop
Darren Bent has tipped Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur to lead the chase for Jack Grealish this summer, but the former striker believes the Aston Villa captain has his heart set on an Old Trafford switch.
Grealish has been a shining light in an altogether poor Villa side since the west midlands club returned to the Premier League this season, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 31 outings this campaign.
It seems all but a certainty that the 24-year-old will leave Villa Park this summer, regardless of whether Dean Smith’s side can escape the clutches of relegation.
Darren Bent has named the three clubs most likely to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish
Despite the club enduring a poor season, Grealish has shone as captain for his boyhood club
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are long-term admirers of the creative midfielder, while City and Spurs also hold a strong interest. The north London club came close to landing Grealish two summers ago.
And Bent, who scored 25 goals in 72 games for the Villains, has named the three clubs Grealish has his eye on.
‘I think Jack Grealish has got his sights set on maybe three teams,’ Bent told Football Insider. ‘I would say probably Manchester United, Manchester City, and potentially maybe Spurs.
Grealish is likely to leave this summer with a host of big names linked to the 24-year-old
According to Bent, Grealish has his heart set on a switch to Manchester United this summer
‘I think they’re the three that are looking at him, and he’s eyeing them thinking ‘I’d like to go to one of them”.
‘I’d probably put Man United at the very, very top of that. If that doesn’t happen and Villa go down, you never know, but for me, he’s got his eye on them.’
Villa are currently in 19th place with ten games remaining this season, as football chiefs look to find a way to complete the Premier League.
Grealish had hit the headlines after being caught breaking the government-imposed lockdown rules to party in Birmingham. The 24-year-old had posted a video to fans just hours before the incident urging them to stay at home.
