James Rodriguez’s agent ‘has talked with Man Utd and Juventus’ over summer move
James Rodriguez's agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly held discussions with representatives of both Manchester United and Juventus over a possible summer move from Real Madrid for his client.
James has made only 13 appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring just once, and their manager Zinedine Zidane does not see the player as part of his long-term plans.
The 28-year-old is said to be keen to move on in search of regular first-team football, and according to Spanish publication AS Mendes has spoken to a number of clubs from Italy and England, with Juve and United the two most high-profile.
James first joined Madrid in 2014 on the back of a superb World Cup for Colombia, in which he won the Golden Boot after scoring six times in the tournament.
Since then he has been unable to live up to expectations, however, and also failed to impress in a two-year loan spell to Bayern Munich between 2017-2019.
His contract with Madrid is set to expire at the end of next season, and the La Liga giants are desperate to sell him sooner rather than later instead of allowing him to leave on a free transfer in 2021.
It is thought, therefore, that he could be available for a fraction of the £63m they spent on signing him from Monaco nearly six years ago.
