Jamie Carragher hopes Liverpool may already have one of three signings needed
Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool have already signed one of the three players they need to get back on track.
The Reds have found themselves 10 points off Premier League leaders Manchester City after their 4-1 mauling at Anfield.
With just two wins from their last nine league games, they have felt the effect of an injury crisis that has five players out.
But Carragher, who won a Champions League and FA Cup in his time at Liverpool, believes they have already taken steps to improve the squad.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, the Reds legend said: “I’m convinced they'll be back.
“They need three players to come in, they need that centre-back, maybe he’s here now in [Ozan] Kabak.”
The Turkish international was signed from Schalke on loan until the end of the season – but did not get a chance against City.
With 77 senior appearances at the age of 20 years old, he can bring some experience to the back line of the Reds.
But the former defender went on to suggest that the other two players need to come from outside Anfield as well.
Carragher added: “Someone to replace [Georginio] Wijnaldum and they need someone in the front three and I’m not talking about players on the bench.
“I’m talking about players to come into the team, like [Joel] Matip, Wijnaldum and [Sadio] Mane did and like [Mohamed] Salah, Van Dijk and Alisson did.
“That’s what Liverpool need.”

And the 43-year-old added a warning to Jurgen Klopp a warning not to rely too much on the players already in his squad.
"Liverpool haven't got the squad and quality of back-ups of other clubs,” Carragher said.
“Liverpool wouldn't have won the trophies they have done over the last two or three years if they would have rotated.”
One player the Reds have been linked with is RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate – but they look set to be beaten to his signature by rivals Manchester United.
