Jose Mourinho tells Bayern Munich how to prepare for Champions League vs PSG

Jose Mourinho has warned Bayern Munich not to take the threat of Paris Saint-Germain’s star-studded forward line lightly and should begin their Champions League final preparations by considering how to tame world football’s most expensively assembled attack.

The French champions will be appearing in their maiden final following years of underachievement, despite the enormous financial backing of their Qatari owners.

Thomas Tuchel’s side looked in sensational order, however, during their routine semi-final win over RB Leipzig earlier this week with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria starring in a 3-0 victory.

Bayern, meanwhile, will go into Sunday’s heavyweight showdown as favourites having enjoyed comfortable wins over Chelsea, Barcelona and Lyon in the knockout stages.

Hansi Flick’s side have amassed 157 goals in all competitions this season with Robert Lewandowski, their prolific striker, in the form of his life.

Backed up by supporting cast of Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry, Bayern have been in relentless form but Mourinho fears they could be caught out if they focus solely on their attacking strengths.

‘I think it is a failure that they (PSG) didn’t win it in the two seasons before because for five or six years the investment is crazy, the list of top players that is there is incredible,’ Mourinho told DAZN.

‘For how many seasons Thiago Silva is there, Marquinhos is there, and then all the big guys, Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic], [Edinson] Cavani, Neymar, [Kylian] Mbappe.

‘It’s, of course, their dream and for the first time they arrive in this kind of situation and this is the kind of game where these guys normally flourish, even if I think that as a team they are nothing from other world, these are players from another world.

‘In these moments, normally they flourish, and so I would say that Bayern, in spite of being really, really strong as a team with some special players, they have to think that Paris can hurt them and start the preparation for this match not just on can we hurt them, but how can they hurt us?’
