Juan Mata admitted his admiration of Jadon Sancho after Manchester United fans flooded his live Instagram Q&A with transfer rumours about the Borussia Dortmund winger.

Mata invited fans to take part in the video on his social media channel but he was inundated with questions about whether United should sign the England international.

Eventually the Spaniard decided to answer and admitted he had been impressed by the 19-year-old.

Juan Mata was asked whether Manchester United should sign Jadon Sancho during a live Q&A

The Spaniard admitted he liked the winger and said he was having a great season in Germany

‘Should we sign Jadon Sancho?’ said Mata.

‘[Laughs] What do you want me to say?!

‘We all know he’s a great player, he’s having a fantastic season at Borussia.

‘But it’s not my responsibility to speak about these things. I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that.’

Dortmund are thought to want around £120million for their star man who could command wages of £150,000 a week.

But the suspension of football has seen the transfer value of players decrease which could help the likes of United and Chelsea who have been tracking the winger.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the club will be in a position to compete financially when the transfer window re-opens with Sancho thought to be the top target.

The winger has 17 goals and 19 assists in all competitions in what has been another impressive season in Germany.
