Kai Havertz puts Liverpool on red alert with latest transfer admission
Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz has admitted he is "ready to take a big step" in his career, comments that will undoubtedly put European giants on red alert.
The 20-year-old has been in outstanding form for the German outfit this season, with top sides such as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Juventus keeping a close eye on the youngster.
Now it seems that the attacking midfielder will indeed depart Leverkusen, though there is certainly no shortage of potential suitors.
And Havertz is seemingly open to leaving Germany for the Premier League.
"I'm ready to take a big step, and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad," Havertz told Sport Bild.
"Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good. I have always said that. But of course I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That's my ambition.
"The coach is a very important person for me. It must be a good fit.
"You can see that with our coach, Peter Bosz. For me, the sporting direction of the club is also reflected in the choice of coach."
Earlier this month, Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz admitted that Havertz will move on from the side this summer transfer window – but his price tag will be set at no less than £90m.
