Liverpool can seal two blockbuster transfers if they accept defeat on two other targets
Liverpool will give themselves the best possible chance of landing both Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho, if they can resist moving for Milot Rashica and Ferran Torres. Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keen on all four players, with Werner best placed to move to Anfield.
Yet it is still unclear as to how the coronavirus crisis could affect the transfer market, with many fearing a quiet window of business at the end of the season.
Activity is forecasted to plummet all the while clubs are not generating match day income and TV revenue.
Liverpool are understood to have placed all transfer activity on hold for the moment until normality resumes.
Nonetheless, they will still have a strong idea as to which players they will want to sign.
JUST IN: Liverpool are about to do something unorthodox in Timo Werner transfer chase
Klopp reportedly wants to meet with Werner to sell him the Liverpool project amid competition from Manchester United and Chelsea but that is of course delayed.
The club have adopted a more relaxed approach regarding Sancho though, he is a signing only likely to happen should Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane leave.
Despite that, Liverpool are keeping tabs on the England international and a change of heart cannot be ruled out.
If they were to cough up £100million for Sancho, it’s a worthwhile investment given how young he is.

In a perfect world for Klopp, both would move to Liverpool at the end of the season but that’s unlikely to happen.
But the Reds can give themselves the best chance of a deal for both by swerving the signings of Milot Rashica and Ferran Torres.
Starting with Rashica, Liverpool have had scouts watching the wideman in the Bundesliga this season with Werder Bremen.
His release clause stands at £35m and he’s been tipped as a potential replacement for Xherdan Shaqiri should he leave the club.
According to German publication Weser Kurier, RB Leipzig have identified Milot Rashica as a potential replacement for Werner.
For that reason, Liverpool should be happy to let him join Leipzig who will be better prepared to sell Werner to the Reds.
The same can be said for Valencia winger Ferran Torres and Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool were said to be willing to rival Barcelona for his services before the German club entered the fray.
Now it looks like they’ve stolen a march on other interest parties and Valencia could be forced into a sale.
That’s because Torres has just one year remaining on his deal and is unlikely to extend his stay at the Mestalla.
He has been harmed as a potential replacement for Sancho, with Dortmund slowly accepting that he may be off at the end of the season.
If Liverpool are willing to hold fire on both deals, it would give them the chance to finalise deals for Werner and Sancho at their own discretion.
