Liverpool expected XI to face Leicester as Klopp hints at Davies and Kabak debuts

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to hand one of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies a Premier League debut against Leicester on Saturday following another injury blow.

While Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all long-term absentees, Fabinho will miss the lunchtime clash against Leicester with a muscle issue.

Although the new boys have been working hard to impress the Champions League winning manager, it is likely that only one will get the nod as Jordan Henderson continues in defence.

Daily Star Sport have taken a look at the most likely starting line-up for the reigning champions as they look to bounce back from their demoralising defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

Alisson is set to continue in goal in a show of faith from Klopp despite his obvious errors in their capitulation at Anfield against City.

The Brazilian is set to start behind a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Henderson, Kabak and Andy Robertson, with Davies named on the bench.

The midfield trio could then include Gini Wijnaldum, Thiago and Curtis Jones, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah once again tasked with finding the goals.

“They have really thrown themselves into everything that is ahead of them, which is what a defender should do," Klopp said of Davies and Kabak this week.

"Both Ben and Ozan are calm people, willing to learn and have a great attitude. They are making big steps in adapting to the way we play. Again, that’s important.

“We have still a clear way to defend, which is important. If both of them would be on the pitch then there are still nine players used to what we have done before.
