Liverpool eye £15m wonderkid, Manes contract demands and Bowen links rubbished

Liverpool may need to bring in some attacking reinforcements come January.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will both depart early next year for the Africa Cup of Nations, leaving the Reds a little light up top.

But, with Salah yet to commit to a new deal, fresh reports have said Mane could also chase similar terms to his teammate.

It has led the club to be linked with a number of forward players including a £15m young forward tipped to be a future star and Premier League rivals West Ham's Jarrod Bowen.

But the club may have suffered a blow in their attempts to sign both players ahead of what could be a huge January transfer window for Jurgen Klopp and his staff.

Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news below.

£15m wonderkid dilemma

Liverpool have been linked with 19-year-old Sparta Prague forward Adam Hlozek, although face competition for the young striker from West Ham.

In the Czech Fortuna Liga, Hlozek had stood out prominently among his peers and he has been one of the leading stars of the division making 11 goal contributions in 14 appearances this season.

But Liverpool could be set to miss out on the player with West Ham ready to 'intensify their pursuit of Hlozek', according to Football Insider.

Mane's contract demands

Sadio Mane could be set to demand a huge bumper payrise – just like teammate Mo Salah, it has been reported.

Mane, just like Salah, is out of contract in 2023 and can leave for free in just over 18 months.

The forward wants a big offer but it’s currently unclear whether he will receive that at Liverpool, Goal report.

Legend rubbishes Bowen links

Liverpool legend Danny Murphy has rubbished reports linking the club to West Ham's Jarrod Bowen.

In his latest column for MyBettingSites, wrote: "I did hear those rumours and I was a little bit surprised. I say surprised not because I don’t like Bowen, I think he has adapted to the Premier League well, I think he’s shown a real appetite to improve his game and get into that West Ham side, playing off the right-hand side.

"He scores goals, has nice finishing, good feet, does his defensive duties and you can see that he plays for the team, he’s not got a big ego or hide away from the work.

"If you’re talking about Salah leaving, Salah doesn’t sign a new contract and someone came in with huge money, do I think Liverpool supporters would be content with Bowen coming in and filling in his shoes, I’d say no.

"That’s not saying I don’t like him [Bowen], I do like him. I’m just talking about filling the boots or competing with the likes of Salah and getting into the team and I just don’t think he’s at that level."
