Liverpool legend John Arne Riise hospitalised with daughter after 2am car crash
John Arne Riise and his daughter Ariana are recovering in hospital after being involved in a car crash in Norway on Tuesday night.
The former Liverpool defender was driving his 19-year-old daughter from Alesund to Tonsberg at around 2am when something caused Riise to swerve off the road and crash his car into railings.
Riise and his daughter were conscious when they were taken to hospital and there is no suspicion of any wrong doing.

Erland Bakke, Riise’s agent, told Norwegian outlet Dagbladet: ‘He drove her home to Alesund, and just before they arrived, something on the road caused John Arne Riise to quickly turn left, and drive into the road rails.
‘Both are well under the circumstances, they will remain in the hospital until this morning.’
Local police made a brief statement about the incident, with spokesperson Sindre Molnes saying: ‘We have some idea of what has happened, but we must first hear from those involved.’
Riise was a hero on Merseyside during his career at Liverpool and his crowning moment was being part of the side that won the 2005 Champions League in dramatic fashion against AC Milan in Istanbul.
The 39-year-old has moved into punditry among other things since retiring and has four children; Ariana, Emma, Patrick and Colin.
Ariana is the oldest of Riise’s kids and the Norwegian recently became a father again last September, when Colin was born.
