Liverpool make Keita available for transfer and the latest on Konate deal

Liverpool have had their problems this season and Jurgen Klopp is looking at the transfer window as a potential solution.

The Reds are toiling to finish in the top four – not what they had envisaged after winning the Premier League with such ease last year.

But there is a very real chance that the champions will be playing in the Europa League next season and there could be a huge revamp going into the summer.

Several players are expected to leave but Klopp has his sights set on bringing in some real quality, strengthening all areas of his squad.

Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours and gossip.

Buendia's 'crazy' price

Liverpool are one of several clubs interested in landing Emi Buendia from Norwich this summer after a stellar campaign.

Arsenal are also in the hunt for the Argentine, who won the PFA Championship Player of the Year award this season.

However, Canaries boss Daniel Farke has insisted Buendia is going nowhere unless a crazy offer comes in.

He said: We are not struggling financially anymore and are ourselves playing on the big stage of Premier League level, for that I am not in fear that a player of this category has to leave.

“They are all on long-term contracts, so if a club really wants to buy one of our key players, they have to invest an unbelievable amount of money, and it would be pretty difficult.

“But if there is a club which wants to do this and put some crazy offers out, then it is more like you can also use this money to improve and move on as a club.”

Keita made available

Liverpool are considering selling Naby Keita this summer after a disastrous few years at the club.

The Guinea international was signed for £53m in 2018 and arrived to a huge fanfare after impressing in the Bundesliga.

But the 26-year-old has been plagued by injuries since his move and has made just 10 appearances in the Premier League this season.

According to the Sunday World, Liverpool are prepared to cut their losses are make him available for transfer.

That will mean that there could be two midfielders leaving in the summer with Georgibio Wijnaldum looking set to depart when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Konate 'in the pipeline'

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Ibrahima Konate – despite reports going dark.

The centre-back was on the brink of joining the Reds last month and it was stated that all that was needed was for the club to trigger his release clause at RB Leipzig.

But that has failed to transpire as of yet, but BILD report that talks are ongoing and an agreement in in the pipeline.

Both Konate and Liverpool are keen on a transfer to go through and his agent is working hard to make sure it all goes through smoothly.

And while nothing has been confirmed, matters are starting to pick up once again with the last week proving pivotal.

The RB Leipzig players have had the last seven days off and that is where most negotiations have taken place.
