Forward needed – Barnes
Liverpool need to sign another forward.
That’s according to Anfield legend John Barnes, who questions whether Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is the right fit.
“They’ll need to sign another forward at some point in case one of the front three leaves but it will have to fit what Klopp wants,” Barnes told the Daily Mail.
“Kylian Mbappe is fantastic on the ball but would he do the other stuff? I’d suggest if you’re a 21-year-old superstar, your attitude isn’t going to change.”
Timo Werner latest
Liverpool remain interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner and have been monitoring his progress since 2015.
However, the Premier League leaders haven’t made any ‘concrete’ decisions on whether or not to make a formal approach for the Germany international due to the financial implications of coronavirus.
The Independent claim Liverpool were ‘willing to sanction’ the £50million needed to trigger Werner’s release clause before the Covid-19 outbreak.
But circumstances have now changed and the Merseyside outfit will wait until there is a ‘clearer picture’ across all European leagues.

Rashica, who has been linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, has scored 23 goals and provided 11 assists in 64 appearances for Werder Bremen.

Liverpool are interested in Brazilian talent Talles Magno.
That’s according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who claim several European heavyweights are queuing up to sign the teenage winger.
Magno, 17, is a regular for Vasco da Gama and has scored three goals in six appearances for Brazil’s Under-17 squad.
Juventus, Lazio, Liverpool and Roma are said to want to sign Magno, but Benfica have submitted the first offer worth £878,000.
