Liverpool receive major Premier League title boost after UEFA make ‘strong recommendation’
Liverpool have been handed a Premier League title boost following the latest meeting by UEFA where there was a ‘strong recommendation’ for domestic competitions to be completed after the coronavirus crisis.
The 55 member associations held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the future of the current season with the game suspended due to COVID-19.
A variety of options were discussed regarding future fixtures and the calendar being changed.
And Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear there was a strong recommendation that seasons should be finished if at all possible.
Part of the statement read: “There was a strong recommendation given to finish domestic top division and cup competitions, but some special cases will be heard once guidelines concerning participation to European competitions – in case of a cancelled league – have been developed.”
