Man Utd icon Gary Neville asked to pick between Rice or Bellingham transfer
Gary Neville has made his preference clear over which one out of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham he would like Manchester United to sign next summer.
The Red Devils have been consistently linked with the England duo, both of whom represented their country at Euro 2020, over the last two years.
United have been in pursuit of a central midfielder in the transfer market for some time and the two are both highly-sought young talents who could transform their midfield.
And now Neville, who captained the club from 2006 to 2011, has revealed who he would choose if he was in charge of making the decision next summer.
When asked on Twitter by a fan who he would choose if United could only sign one next summer, Neville replied: “Bellingham.”
Bellingham at 18 is certainly a younger and more eye-catching transfer, being regarded as one of the most outstanding talents of his generation since his meteoric ascent.
He has shone both in the Bundesliga and Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in the past year, demonstrating brilliant technique, work ethic, passing, dribbling and a maturity beyond his years.
United are also believed to have good relations with both the player and his family, having given him a tour of the club’s training facilities prior to his 2020 move to Dortmund, which he eventually opted for in order to boost his development.

Meanwhile, Rice, 22, has been another player consistently linked with the Old Trafford club and is more polished than his Bundesliga counterpart, having played four full seasons of Premier League football and started regularly for England.
Rice is formerly of Chelsea’s academy and the Blues have been rumoured with a return transfer for their former star in the past, meaning the West Ham captain could choose his Stamford Bridge ties over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s project.
But Rice still has three years remaining on his contract and West Ham would need to receive a hefty bid in order to be temped into letting him go.
