Man Utd issued transfer warning over Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish as new bids discussed
Manchester United need to scrap their bid to sign Jadon Sancho this summer and focus on defensive reinforcements instead, according to Ian Wright. United have been relatively quiet this summer, though they forked out £40million on Donny van de Beek.
United are reportedly ready to continue spending after their acquisition of the Dutchman.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of attacking players this summer, with Sancho and Jack Grealish believed to be their top targets.
However, talks with Borussia Dortmund have been stalling, with United reluctant to meet the £108m asking price for the English winger.
They are still said to be determined to sign the forward, though the deal will likely go right down to the wire.

But Wright believes their focus should be on signing defenders rather than attackers, especially as Van de Beek will be able to create chances going forward.
Speaking to the Kelly and Wrighty show, the former Arsenal striker explained that there’s little need for the Red Devils to sign either Grealish or Sancho.
“I do feel if you look at the value that they might be able to get from Van de Beek and what you can get from Jack Grealish… they’ve got Fernandes, they’ve got Pogba in respects of creativity,” he said.
“I’m not sure where he’d [Sancho] work in United now.

“They’ve got a player in Van de Beek who can play in three positions so that’s good business from them.
“As much as we’re hearing and seeing great things from Jadon Sancho, Man United need to do what Liverpool did – address the real problems and then see where they go from there.’
Wright instead suggested that United should follow Liverpool’s example and sign a new left-back and centre-back in order to improve their chances of challenging for the Premier League title.
He continued: “When you look at Man United, what they’ve got up front and you put Van de Beek in there with them too – they’ve just made one signing in Fernandes and it all changed, all of a sudden they looked amazing.

“But for me, from the defensive point of view, I just feel that they are still very week.
“We’re hearing that Manchester City might get [Kalidou] Koulibaly – United have got to go in there to try and do that deal.
“If you look at them from left-back, yes we know [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka is fantastic right-back and a great defender, but [Victor] Lindelof and even Harry Maguire – from the left side they’re there for the taking.
“If you’re gonna go and challenge those teams, that needs to be a lot stronger.”
