Man Utd make Ismaila Sarr enquiry as hunt for Jadon Sancho alternative steps up

Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their hunt for an alternative to Jadon Sancho with the Red Devils making an enquiry for Watford ace Ismaila Sarr.

United have been heavily linked with a transfer for Borussia Dortmund star Sancho this summer though have been consistently put off by the £108m asking price.

The Red Devils are still interested in the England international with a week of the transfer window remaining though are reportedly actively looking at other options.

And Watford star Sarr is one of those, according to the Telegraph, with it claimed that an enquiry into his availability has been made.

It’s been suggested that Vicarage Road bosses want between £40m and £50m for Sarr though a loan with an option to buy may do the trick.

Speaking over the summer, Sarr addressed his future and a potential move having been part of the Watford squad that was relegated to the Championship.

He told Les Echos in Senegal: “I told myself we needed to do everything to not go down into the Championship.

"We did give our all to avoid this situation. At the end of the season, I told myself that I failed my mission.

"I would have liked to help my team to stay up in the Premier League. For now, I’m calm [about his future] in my corner.

"I keep working, and the rest, my team and my agent will take care of it because regardless of what happens, you need the club’s blessing.

Manchester United have made just one signing this summer, bringing Donny van de Beek to Old Trafford from Ajax.

The Red Devils are believed to be close to sealing a move for Alex Telles though have less than a week before the window slams shut.
