Erling Haaland praise

Erling Haaland says Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘deserves a lot of credit’ for helping his development.

The Norwegian striker played under Solskjaer’s tutelage at Molde and has since risen to stardom with 41 goals in 38 appearances for both Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.

The 19-year-old first alerted clubs to his capabilities when netting four goals in 20 minutes against SK Brann – and Haaland says that advice in the days before the match from Solskjaer was pivotal.

“Before that game, Solskjaer and I did some practice on finishing. Not just crosses. I remember he taught me some easy rules,” Haaland told Eurosport.

“That was something he taught me in the days before that game and he has taught me a lot to be calm, and also be on your toes and come to those situation where the ball is coming. It is then you have the chance to score. He deserves a lot of credit for teaching me that.”

Man Utd sign Radek Vitek

Manchester United have completed the signing of teenage goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

The Red Devils agreed a deal with Czech Republic side Sigma Olomouc for the 16-year-old prodigy in January – but had to wait to officially complete the transfer.

The towering 6ft 5in goalkeeper will now join United on scholarship terms in July.

“It’s a surreal feeling, a move to Manchester United is the dream of a lot of guys who start playing football,” he told Sigma Olomouc’s official website. “I’m really looking forward to it. I admit I didn’t even believe it when I found out about the club’s interest, but now it’s definitely a reality.”

The Czech club’s sporting director, Ladislav Minar added: “If Radek were to play for the Manchester team in the future or move to another club, the financial satisfaction would be of interest to Sigma.”

Solskjaer’s ruthless transfer plan

Manchester United are willing to take advantage of clubs struggling to make ends meet because of the coronavirus crisis if they want to sign their players in the next transfer window.

Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a brutal admission to Sky Sports’ Gary Neville claiming he would not be afraid to “exploit” sides in a weaker position.

“Who knows how the market is going to react to this? Who Knows which clubs need to sell players? There might be a situation that we can exploit at Man Utd, we are the biggest and we are well off.

“I am sure we are capable of doing the business that we want too.”

Philippe Coutinho latest

Manchester United and Chelsea are yet to express an official interest in Philippe Coutinho – but Leicester City have.

That is according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who says Coutinho’s representatives are trying to engineer a return to the Premier League for their client.

Both United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Coutinho, as have former club Liverpool, but Balague says Leicester are so far the only team to make their interest known.

“The thing is, only Leicester have shown interest in Coutinho. Only Leicester,” he said on his YouTube channel. “But I know that Coutinho’s representatives are looking into the Premier League with the possibility of getting him.”
