Man Utd ‘not doing anything’ to extend Paul Pogba’s contract as Real Madrid eye transfer
Manchester United have shown no intentions of extending Paul Pogba’s contract at the club and his time at Old Trafford appears to be drawing to a close. The Frenchman has just eight months remaining on his current deal and although United have the option to extend his stay by another year, the club’s hierarchy are yet to make their move as Pogba eyes his dream switch to Real Madrid.
In midweek, Pogba was open about his desire to move to the Bernabeu and play under his idol Zinedine Zidane.
As it stands, he remains fully focussed on regaining his form after losing his way in the past two seasons.
While there was no saga surrounding his future this summer, Pogba has put the pressure on Ed Woodward by claiming the United chief is yet to contact him over extending his time at the club.
He told Radio Monte Carlo: “New United contract? I haven’t been told anything. I haven’t spoken with Ed Woodward.

According to Duncan Castles, Pogba finally appears to be heading for the exit door.
“It’s interesting that in that press conference, Pogba himself says that he’s not spoken to Ed Woodward and they’ve not spoken about a new deal,” he said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
“According to his account, Manchester United are not doing anything to extend his terms.

“In normal circumstances, if the long-term plan was to retain the player, you’d expect him to have started operation on that now.
“He is effectively, just a few months away from being able to negotiate a free transfer on a freedom of contract basis.
“Of course United can stop that by exercising the option but if he was a central player to their plans, this should be under discussion already and it’s not.”
The 27-year-old may have moved back to Juventus if it was not for the COVID-19 pandemic but now he has made it clear he wants he next destination to be Real Madrid.

Pogba said: “All football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?”
“I am in Manchester and I love my club. I am playing in Manchester, I’m having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves it. I will give everything to the max, like my team-mates.
“At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.
“I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not. So far, nothing has happened. I can’t tell you something that I don’t know.”
