Man Utd ‘offered Old Trafford flop Di Maria’ in Paul Pogba transfer swap bid
Manchester United flop Angel Di Maria has reportedly been offered back to the club by Paris-Saint Germain as the French club eye a shock swap deal for Paul Pogba.
According to reports from France, PSG have offered winger Di Maria and midfielder Julian Draxler in exchange for French World Cup winner Pogba, as they set their sights on glory in next season's Champions League.
It is not yet clear when the transfer window will re-open given football across Europe is still suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But Pogba has been linked with a move away for some time now, and with the current lack of football expected to hit clubs' finances hard, United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could look to do a swap deal for the midfielder.
Italian outlet Calciomercato have cited reports in the French press stating PSG have offered Draxler and Di Maria to United as they try to beat Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan to Pogba's signature.
However, Red Revils fans might not be too happy about seeing Di Maria return, after he scored just three league goals in an ill-fated spell at Old Trafford during the 2014-5 season.
The Argentine winger has fared better since joining PSG, having netted 47 goals in 144 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
United may get a better offer for Pogba, however, with Tuttosport claiming that other clubs are also prepared to offer swap deals.
