Man Utd’s 600-goal Charlie McNeill ‘likes’ Instagram post on Glazer protests
Manchester United’s 600-goal wonderkid Charlie McNeill has “liked” an Instagram post from the Glazer protests.
A group of approximately 200 Red Devils supporters broke onto the Old Trafford pitch in a protest against the club’s owners the Glazers.
While supporters were removed from the ground 90 minutes before the 4:30pm kick-off against Liverpool, the teams and officials decided to postpone the match.
Videos and images from inside the ground quickly circulated around social media of fans letting off flares, despite the online blackout by football clubs around the country.
Among the accounts sharing content were United fan channel Stretford Paddock, who posted a clip on their Instagram page from the middle of the turf.
And it appeared to receive a like from McNeill, the United academy starlet who joined from rivals Manchester City last summer.
The Instagram account of the 17-year-old, who is believed to have scored 600 times on the other side of the city, was seen on the list of likes for the post.
United fans stormed the stadium ahead of the Premier League clash as a continued response to the Glazers following the European Super League fallout.
It saw them break onto the pitch and even get access to the VIP boxes, with ‘five or six’ reportedly getting down the Old Trafford tunnel.
While they made their way to the Sky Sports broadcasting platform, chanting their desire for the Glazers to leave the club.
But they did take some souvenirs from the ground including ‘balls, corner flags and camera equipment'.
