Mata’s positive response when asked about Man Utd transfer target Sancho

Manchester United star Juan Mata says England international Jadon Sancho is a "great player", but he refused to be drawn on his club's potential move for the England star.

Sancho, 20, is being hotly-tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer and return to England, where he came up through the ranks at Manchester City.

Any move is likely to cost up to £100million or more, and Mata was asked about the possibility of the swtch during an Instagram Live Q&A.

"What do you want me to say?" said the Spanish star.

"We all know that he's a great player. He's having a fantastic season at Borussia, but you know it's not my responsibility to speak about those things.

"Of course, I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that."

While Mata was reluctant to talk up a move, his teammate Marcus Rashford was a little more forthcoming in a recent interview.

"Hopefully we can all play together, that would be good," Rashford told Bleacher Report Live.

"He plays off the cuff, he's creative and imaginative, these are the things you need to be world class."

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn't been as candid about his admiration for Sancho, but says his side will be ready to move in the transfer market when football resumes.

"Football is going to get back to normality at one point, and it's very important we're ready when that happens," Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

"We want to be the best at everything, and of course now is a chance to spend more time, you discuss players, discuss plans, we've evaluated what we need, of course with the coaching staff we've looked at games, evaluated games, discussing on video calls like this.
