Neymar’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been the subject of much speculation, with the forward’s current contract due to expire in 2022. However, ahead of the first leg of PSG’s Champions League semi-final clash with Manchester City, Neymar has revealed that “everything is nearly sorted”.

The 29-year-old confirmed talks were ongoing but it appears that he is set to stay at the Parc des Princes.

Speaking to RMC Sport ahead of the game against City, Neymar said: “We are in talks with PSG. There is nothing pressing.

“Everything is nearly sorted. I feel at ease. I feel truly very happy here at PSG.

“Concerning the fans, that is what I can’t wait for the most, for them to be back in the stadium.

“I hope that they support all the players, that they will be there to encourage us.”

Neymar will be looking to help PSG reach the Champions League final for the second season in a row and, along with Kylian Mbappe, he will pose a real threat to City in the semi-final.

Pep Guardiola has admitted that he has had sleepless nights thinking about how to stop the duo, saying: “They’re too good.

“I tried to sleep well last night, and that was [only] when I wasn’t thinking of them.

“That’s the reality. They’re top players. That’s why they play in that team with the quality they have.

“We’re ready to try to stop them, defend as a team, play good football and try to score goals.”

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, has lavished praise on the forward ahead of the clash with City.

Speaking to the Guardian, Pochettino said: “It’s so easy with Neymar because you don’t need to do too much.

“From day one, he’s been very open to work. He’s very humble, he listens and always accepts all the instructions in a very good way.

“Brazilian players have something special inside. They love to play football because it’s like a dance. They play like they are dancing.

“Ronaldinho was my team-mate when I was a PSG player and now Neymar.

“They need to feel good, to feel happy to perform in the best way.”
