Neymar has been ruled out of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League second leg against Barcelona.
The Brazil star missed the 4-1 victory for the Ligue 1 champions at Camp Nou last month with an adductor injury.
He returned to partial training with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad last week and hopes had been raised that the 29-year-old could feature in the second part of the last-16 tie on Wednesday from the bench.

Neymar suffered an adductor injury six days before the first leg victory at Camp Nou
But the French club have confirmed they are taking no risks with their star forward and he will therefore play no part in the second leg against his former club either, instead carrying on with recovery work on an individual basis.
‘Neymar Jr resumed partial training with the squad last week and will continue his individual recovery work,’ a club statement read.
‘A new point (update) will be made in the coming days.’
Neymar – who left Barcelona for PSG in a £198million deal in 2017 – has been out of action since picking up a knock in a French Cup clash with Caen on February 10.
The former Barcelona star therefore missed the chance to return to Camp Nou six days later, as team-mate Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick saw the Ligue 1 side set one foot into the quarter-finals.
Boss Pochettino however will also be without their other goalscorer from that night in Catalonia, Moise Kean, who is still isolating after becoming the latest PSG star to test positive for coronavirus.
Left-back Juan Bernat will also be unavailable as continues his rehabilitation and his personal recovery from a serious cruciate ligament rupture injury.
The club also confirmed No 2 goalkeeper Sergio Rico missed training due to personal reasons.
