Pep Guardiola’s agent delivers update on Man City manager’s future at the club
Pep Guardiola’s agent insists the Manchester City boss will not be leaving the Etihad.
Guardiola has just 12 months of his current deal remaining and his future is still unclear.
The Spaniard is expected to hold talks about an extension with City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak in the next week, with club bosses keen to tie him down until 2023.
Club chiefs want the situation resolved before the start of the new season and don't want speculation to overshadow City's attempt to win back the Premier League title.
Guardiola has been linked with a shock return to Barcelona to replace Quique Setien, who is expected to be sacked in the wake of his side's humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Reports also claim Mauricio Pochettino is being lined up to replace Guardiola should he be reluctant to commit himself to City for longer than one more season.
City's woeful defeat to Lyon in the Champions League quarter finals has prompted some questions over whether or not he is prepared to continue at the Etihad.
But Guardiola has always insisted he will honour his contract at City and his agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, has made it clear he wants to stay where he is.

Orobitg insists a return to Barca is 'currently impossible' and when asked if Guardiola would remain in Manchester he added: "Yes, Pep will stay at City 100 percent."
City, meanwhile, have been handed fresh hope of being able to sign Lionel Messi in what would be a stunning coup.
Reports in Spain claim Messi has told Barca bosses he wants to leave the Spanish giants immediately.
City are one of the few clubs in world football that could afford the Argentine legend, who could be tempted to reunite with Guardiola again.
