Roy Keane disappointed ‘frustrated’ Ronaldo has ‘had enough’ at Man Utd
Roy Keane has come to the defence of Cristiano Ronaldo after the "frustrated" forward was dropped by Manchester United following a bust-up with Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese superstar refused to come off the bench late on during United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday. To make matters worse, Ronaldo shockingly stormed off down the tunnel and left the stadium before the final whistle, casting a shadow over the Red Devils’ victory.
Manager Ten Hag has since banished him to train with the club’s u21s, while Ronaldo could also be hit with a hefty fine for his latest strop. But with the club legend increasingly likely to leave in January, former teammate and pundit Roy Keane believes Ronaldo has simply “had enough”.

Speaking ahead of the Premier League clash with Chelsea, Keane told Sky Sports: “I will still try to defend him. I still think he’s a human being, he’s got flaws. He feels frustrated that he’s not been getting opportunities and he’s had enough.
“He’s walked down the tunnel. I think players have done a lot worse things at Man United, it’s human nature. I think the guy cares, this game is full of bluffers and he’s certainly not one of them.
“I think he cares about the club and wants to play. The last few weeks he has been frustrated, after the Manchester City game, against Everton he came on and scored, he was taken off against Newcastle.

“They asked the manager in the last few days… Ronaldo refused to go on. They should have asked him ‘when were you going to put him on?’ Late in the game, two or three minutes to go? Not too sure that was a clever move.”
Ronaldo re-joined United in the summer of 2021, 12 years after initially leaving for Real Madrid at the peak of his powers. He ended last season as United’s top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions, though the side’s calamitous performances led to reports of him seeking a move away last summer.
