Russian model addresses Neymar dating rumours after cosy Instagram snap

Russian model and Instagram beauty Katerina Safarova has revealed to her followers that she never had any courtship with Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

Safarova and Neymar have been linked after she was in attendance at one of the Brazil star’s birthday parties in 2019.

She was photographed alongside the attacker, accompanied with the caption: “Happy birthday love.”

As a result, many stories emerged about the pair’s relationship, with one source saying to publication RT: “I know she was with him for some time.”

“They pretended to be friends in front of people but everyone knew they were having a fling. She even went to one of his birthdays in Paris.”

But more recently the 23-year-old model has suggested otherwise, telling her 1.8 million followers that she never had such a relationship with Neymar and it was always platonic.

In a Q&A session on Instagram Stories, Safarova was asked: “Are you going out with Neymar?”

“Whatever I answer, people always have their own opinion” Safarova replied. “No, we weren’t going out. We’re good friends, but nothing more.”

Back in June, she had spoken about Neymar and her possible dalliances with the former Barcelona star.

“Find someone who doesn't know anything about football – that’s me,” said Safarova on the Russian YouTube show ‘FameTime TV’.

“He’s a very nice guy, very funny. In general, I love people from Brazil,” added Safarova, who speaks four languages.

It is thought that Neymar is now supposed to be seeing Brazilian Bruna Biancardi, according to Metropoles, and had even introduced her to his family over Christmas.

Neymar is still out injured following an ankle injury sustained last month. The 29-year-old has featured in ten Ligue 1 games this season and scored three goals, one of which marked the 400th of his career.

PSG sit top of the French league, 13 points ahead of Nice in second place. Last season’s winners, Lille, are in eighth spot but have not lost in their last five games.
